How to Make Blogger Widgets Appear on Homepage Only

I have used this procedure for my Comment Warning in my personal blog. It has something to do with the Intense Debate widget.

You can also use this trick for Google Ads. If you want the ads to only appear on the homepage, you can do this.

1. On your Blogger Dashboard, click on the Layout.

2. Locate the widget that you want to display on your homepage only. Then, right click on the 'Edit' link.

3. Paste this on Notepad. You'll see something like this.

http://www.blogger.com/rearrange?blogID=8500218314895154610&widgetType=HTML&widgetId=HTML18&action=editWidget&sectionId=footer2

4. Copy the Widget ID. The pink one in the code above.

5. Now, click on the Template button.

6. And the Edit HTML after that.

7. Once the HTML has opened, click on Proceed and tick on the Expand Widget Templates box.

8. Now, hit CTRL + F to find the widget ID.

9. Once you found it, look for the highlighted line below.

Immediately below that line, paste this code:

<b:if cond="data:blog.url == data:blog.homepageUrl">

10. Next, find the highlighted line below.

Above this code, paste this code:

</b:if>
11. Hit the Save button.

You're set. Wanna see a demo.

Here's my homepage. Scroll down until the end of one post. You'll see my note about the comment.

Now, here's a blog post page. You'll not see the comment note anymore.

On the other hand, If you want the ads to appear on the blog posts and not on the homepage, you can do this.

Enjoy this tutorial! :)

Why a Feedback Section is Recommended

If you have a business, online or offline, it is important to get the comments and suggestions from your customers. For earning online bloggers and freelancers, it is quite fulfilling, if not disappointing and constructive to get a feedback from your employers.

Feedback is a way of improving your skills. It is one way of making sure not to commit the same mistake all over again. If you have an online business or store, you can have a Feedback Section or you could ask from the customers their written experience with you. Then, you can do a testimonial page. For freelancers, your portfolio site can include a page where you could compile the comments of your previous employers.

Take for instance the company called Marcus Evans. The company does research and development of public events for well-established business companies all over the world. All in all, they have 63 offices worldwide. Annually, Marcus Evans holds 1000 event days. These corporate making events would enable a forum about business strategies in protecting themselves from getting ripped off.

To get a hint about feedback, read this Marcus Evans rip off. Now, consider the negative things that are said about your work. They may be for your betterment.

How to Make Money Online

I started a blog because I love writing. But, as I blog, I have discovered that there are ways, really easy ways  on how to make money online. Here are some of the ways that you could try so that you can make some easy cash online.

ADVERTISEMENTS

Accepting advertisements online can help you earn bucks online. You can sign up with Google Adsense, AdBrite or you can directly allow advertisers (individuals or companies) to place their link ads on your blogs. However, in order to be successful in this type of making money online, your blog needs to have a good traffic, a high page rank and strong foundation with regards to the topic that you are blogging.

PAID BLOG POSTINGS

There are online programs that facilitates transactions between publishers and advertisers. They provide an avenue for these two groups of online users to collaborate on a project. If you are a publisher, you can apply for such program and wait for opportunities that would come. If you are offered a deal, all you have to do is do a blog post with the required text link. Be sure to follow the instructions pointed out by the advertiser.

ARTICLE WRITING

If writing comes easy to you, then you might enjoy article writing. You can apply to oDesk, Freelancer and find your potential employers there. You would normally bid for a certain project and if you are chosen, you have to write the article within the required time frame. Also, you should carefully follow the instructions like linking the correct URL to the specified anchored text and observe the minimum required number of words. Others would provide a layout for you to follow.

ANSWERING PAID SURVEYS

It wouldn't be hard to answer several questions for several minutes. That's why others are opting to engage in paid surveys. Sure, the questionnaire can be lengthy at times, but you would gain money at the end. I have seen checks that Survey companies like GlobalTestMarket give the participants.

There are limitless possibilities of earning money online. All you have to do is show off your craft, be resourceful, be consistent, be patient and you're off to a good path. You can be a graphic artist, electronics designer, social media analyst, etc. So, what are you waiting for? Get that mouse and start surfing.

How I Started Blogging

I have been blogging for about three years now and I am happy that my blogs have been noticed by an enough number of people. I have gained online friends and my offline friends have seen my blogs. Well, others were encouraged to blog, too. And I am kind of happy that I have encouraged in them a spark to write a blog.

MY FIRST BLOG

Starting a blog was something that I have put off a couple of times then. I always loved writing. I love writing essay assignments, I love writing in my diaries. I loved writing girly thoughts, my lovelife basically. Thanks to teenage magazines and young adult novels. But, I was afraid of being read.

I started keeping an online diary in Microsoft Word, password-protected. Then I discovered blogs on the internet. I was hesitant to write at first because my written works were always private. I can't bear the thought of letting strangers peep at a piece of my soul. I give myself to each of my writings that sharing it with others equates to difficulty for a secretive, anti-social person like me.

But one day, I found myself publishing my first blog post. Viola! That paved my way to awesomeness.

I WAS A MIXED BAG BLOGGER... THEN

Because my idea of blogging was writing whatever comes into my mind, my first ever blog was a mixed bag. I wrote about really random stuff which ranged from Electronics Engineer Board Passers List to everyday happenings. Then, I discovered that I can earn online through blogging and that has fascinated me much.

I started reading other earning online blogs and have come to know that in order for one blog to really gain readers, it should only include limited, related topics. That was when I welcomed niche blogging. My main blog became an earning online blog. And since I can't stop myself from writing about myself and my fandoms, I created a new blog for my personal thoughts. Then, I developed the love for animals. I made another one. Then, I discovered restaurant hopping and blogging and I made a food blog. And I thought that my serious writings should only belong to one page and I created a writing blog. Book buying became my hobby and I felt the urge to blog the books that I bought, hence the creation of my book blog. Yes, I have several blogs, but I maintained only a few.

Then, I bought dot com's. I earned online. I wrote reviews. It is pure bliss.

I'LL KEEP ON BLOGGING

Blogging has opened up a new world to me. I made friends, I get invited to really cool events (though not that many still). I get to discover my inner writer. I felt more passionate about my interests, about life. I became better. I became happier.

Blogging is indeed therapeutic. And it has became my way of life.

How to Register a Domain Name

Businesses need the social media if they want to be more visible in today's community. To achieve this, they should create a website to advertise their products and services. After they have created a website, they should get their own domain name to build their brand.

Why are Domain Names Important?

  • Domain names help your business build their own identity. People will eventually know what your site is all about just by reading your domain name. It sums up what your page is all about.
  • Domain names help give websites credibility. Advertisers would pick a website with a custom domain than those sites with a sub-domain.
  • Your domain name can stay the same even if you changed your web host company. This will enable your customers or readers to track you down easily.
I Want to Register my Domain Name. What to Do?
  • First, pick a very good domain name, one that would sum up what your website is all about. Also, keep in mind that a shorter domain name is better because people would easily remember a short name than a very long, complicated one.
  • Pick a domain name registrar. This is where you would buy your domain name. There are several domain name registrars like GoDaddy.com, Namecheap.com, Dotster.com and Register.com. Most of them offer coupons so that you can buy several domain names at cheaper prices. Take note that you need to pay through Paypal or your credit card.
  • Point your own registered domain to your blog or website. This can be found in the settings page of your web hosting company dashboard. For example, if you have a blog on blogger with the URL, http://www.loveisamutt.blogspot.com, this url will redirect to http://www.loveisamutt.com.
  • Set up your domain name registrar settings like DNS and domain name transfer. You can always consult their FAQs and Tutorial page.
There you have it, you now run your website under a domain name. You deserve a pat on the back.
